Growing up in Cork, the daughter of Brendan O’Brien, lead singer of Ireland's beloved showband, The Dixies, Aideen O’Brien was surrounded by music from the day she was born. Her mother was in musical theatre and her uncle, Glen Curtin was a musical success in cabaret venues throughout Ireland and many parts of the US.Aideen stands as a leading figure in the dynamic landscape of the entertainment industry, with a career spanning more than two decades. From traditional song publishing with Carlin America and BMG to pioneering advancements in music data tracking and artist management, Aideen's impact echoes across continents and genres. From Ireland to Canada and into Nashville, Aideen has worked with local indie performers and writers to great success, including breaking The Wilkinsons in Nashville, tour guiding Jully Black in the UK, securing singers into movie roles and MGM Garden Arena performances in Las Vegas, as well as hundreds of hours of TV and film production music with Entertainment One, and coaching multiple small businesses on their IP Assets.Aideen's expertise in strategy is honed through years of multifaceted roles encompassing marketing artists, music catalogue sales, and change management as eOne grew from a small, independent company in 2010 to the global success that led to its sale to Hasbro in 2020.As Director of Music Publishing & Supervision at Entertainment One (now Lionsgate), she left an indelible mark, uncovering an extensive amount of hidden and unclaimed revenue streams, optimizing operational efficiency. Fearlessly challenging the status quo, she champions bold ideas and steers them to fruition with unwavering determination. Her contributions extend beyond boardrooms, as she shared her knowledge and experience teaching at the Toronto Film School and many Industry Conference talks. Aideen's commitment to community and innovation is also evidenced by her contributions as founding Board Member of the Canadian Songwriter Hall of Fame and work with industry boards like CARAS, Music Publisher Canada, SOCAN Foundation and others. Aideen's journey continues as she launches a new chapter with Mighty Craic Music, applying her Honours Diploma in Music Industry Management, she integrates creativity with business acumen. She draws on her collaboration with BMAT, which introduced cutting-edge data tracking systems and revolutionizing revenue collection for artists and producers worldwide into her repertoire. Central to Aideen's success is her phenomenal ability to build and nurture relationships. She easily cultivates a rapport and trust with clients and colleagues, laying the groundwork for enduring partnerships, forging genuine connections that transcend cultural boundaries and inspire creativity to flourish.
